Primary Care

Primary CareHerndon, VA

Far too often, people are content to avoid seeking professional treatment and attempt to wait in the hopes the condition gets better on its own. In other cases, people avoid regular checkups or seeking treatment when they experience potential symptoms of a more serious condition. With regular checkups and primary care, it is possible to avoid the worst of many conditions and remain healthy.

Primary Care Services

While we offer urgent care services, we understand there are a variety of health issues that may require treatment right away. However, we also understand that people may also need medical treatment for other reasons that may not be as urgent. In those cases, we can provide patients with the treatment they need.

Receive the medical services you need with our primary care and medical treatment.

One of the main mistakes people make is in avoiding regular checkups or testing. The reason for that is that these appointments are an extremely effective method for finding the early signs of a condition. For instance, a patient who experiences painful urination, swelling/redness near the groin, weight loss and loose stools may want to receive STD testing. If not, the symptoms will only get worse over time.

Our primary care services include but are not limited to:

  • STD testing
  • HIV testing
  • Women’s Health Exams
  • Screening Mammograms
  • Pregnancy Testing
  • Pap smears
  • Liver testing
  • Kidney testing
  • Diabetes check
  • Cholesterol check
  • School physicals
  • Sports physicals

Avoid Self-Diagnosis

It is important to keep an eye out for symptoms or signs that something is not right with one’s health. Even though it is easy to use the internet and search for the matching symptoms someone has, it can still be highly inaccurate. Many conditions will have similar symptoms with other conditions. Due to that, people will misdiagnose what they have and seek the wrong treatment.

Along with that, people may invest in store-bought medications or products that are not nearly as effective as professional medical treatments. In other cases, the patient may not be able to properly test and identify what is causing the pain. For instance, a patient with belly pain, mild fever, fatigue and nausea may have a live issue or hepatitis. In order to be sure, we need to run several tests, including liver testing.

No matter the health issue, we will help to run the necessary tests and develop a treatment plan.

FAQ

We understand there are always questions about the treatment process and regular primary care appointments. With that in mind, here are common questions we hear from patients and our answers to them.

Are Annual Checkup Appointments Really Necessary?

Yes. Annual checkup appointments are an effective way to identify the early signs of health issues in the patient. We can also keep an eye on a patient’s overall health, measuring blood pressure, cholesterol level, changes in weight and more. If we notice any irregularities or concerns, we will recommend treatment.

Do I need to Schedule an Appointment Ahead of Time?

While we accept walk-ins and act as an urgent care clinic, we may need the patient to schedule an appointment ahead of time to prepare. In other cases, test results may take a day to come back and we may need to schedule a follow-up appointment. Visit or call us to learn more.

Is there Anything I can do to Reduce my risk of Heart Disease?

Yes. During an appointment, we can go over the different options to help decrease the risk of heart disease. With regular checkup appointments, we can also keep tabs on the signs of potential heart disease and take proper action early on.

Do you Offer Treatment for Children?

At Millennium Medical Care, we provide primary care to patients of varying ages, including children. However, we may not treat infants depending on the type of visit and the patient’s need. In these cases, feel free to call us to discern if we can help treat your child.

If I am in a car Accident, can I come Here for Treatment?

Yes, but it depends entirely on the extent of your injuries. If you are bleeding from a large wound, have difficulty moving or sustain extensive damage to your body, seek treatment at an ER in a hospital as soon as possible. If you are in a car accident, soreness in your neck that is getting worse and want to get checked out, then we can help.

If I am on a Medication for a past Health Condition, can you Decrease the Dosage?

This will depend greatly on the type of condition, the medication, the patient’s health otherwise and more. We will need to review the patient’s medical history and determine if the prescription medication is still necessary.
